Goodwill Industries in Lincoln is accredited through CARF (Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities) and maintains an effective Employment Services Program that offers job training and employment programs to people who face barriers to employment. Goodwill’s client population includes people with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities, or dependence on public support. Today Goodwill Industries is unique; of all the agencies in Lincoln, it is the only one that serves the broad spectrum of persons with barriers to employment.
Goodwill’s Job Connection is located downtown in the Goodwill Retail Store. The purpose of Job Connection is to maximize the employability of job seekers in a market that requires some computer knowledge in nearly all jobs. Individuals may receive assistance with resume and cover letter creation and templates are available for use. Staff members are also available to help guide guests through online applications. Classes or tutorials for basic computer skills, typing and data entry are also made available. Many of the tutorials are available in both English and Spanish.

From Microsoft Office and email, to reading, math, and more—GCFLearnFree.org offers more than 200 topics, including more than 7,000 lessons, more than 1,000 videos, and more than 50 interactives and games, completely free.

Created specifically to meet the needs of job seekers, Skills to Succeed Academy offers 36 bite-sized, interactive modules. Jobseekers will be guided on the entire journey, from choosing the right career and finding a job to achieving success in the workplace.
The training is interactive and features engaging and relatable characters. It focuses on building the skills and confidence to empower jobseekers to take ownership of their job search. Innovative simulations provide a safe environment where learners can practice real-life scenarios, such as job interviews, and instantly see the impact of their decisions.
