Job Connection: Lisa’s Success Story

Lisa Brooks smiles at Job Connection

Goodwill’s Job Connection Center in downtown Lincoln has had the privilege to serve the Lincoln community for several years. Job seekers come in to find one-on-one assistance with resumes, cover letters, online job applications and more. Also, individuals may have access to classes and tutorials for digital computer skills, data entry, and typing. With shopper and donor support of retail and donation centers, Goodwill provides these services all at no cost to the community.

Lisa Brooks has been a Job Connection client through various points in her life. She enjoys the one-on-one approach she receives, specifically with help in navigating online applications and building an electronic resume.

Lisa utilized services such as mock interviews, tutorials designed to improve her knowledge of basic computer skills and virtual interviews. When needed, employment specialists guided her through filing weekly unemployment claims.

Job Connection has become a safe place that Lisa can depend on, no matter what is happening in her life. The welcoming smiles of the Employment Specialists are always ready to assist her and lend a helping ear. Lisa expressed that she is grateful to have a place that she can count on.

“They’ve gone above and beyond their duties here. It makes me feel great because they are always there for me,” Lisa said.
