Create a Fun, Eco-Friendly Dog Toy Using Secondhand Shirts

Are you looking for an eco-friendly way to spoil your furry friend? Create a tug toy using secondhand shirts! Not only is it a great way to repurpose materials, but it’s also a creative and cost-effective method for keeping your dog entertained. All you need are some used shirts (from your closet or from the nearest Goodwill), a pair of scissors, and a little bit of time to create a fun, interactive toy that your dog will love.

What you’ll need:

Scissors
Two T-shirts

Part 1: Cutting the strips

Step 1 – Lay a used t-shirt flat and face-up on a hard surface. Start from the bottom and cut several horizontal strips (1-2 inches wide) until you reach the armpit of the shirt. Keep the strips in a loop

Step 2 – Stretch each strip so it curls in on itself

Step 3 – Cut the sleeves off the shirt. Keep sleeves in a loop

Part 2: Braiding the tug toy

Step 1 – Gather six strips and two sleeves. Use at least two different-colored shirts. Loop one sleeve through all six strips. Tie a knot to leave a handle at the end.
