Your donations to Goodwill help fund employment programs and services for people who face different barriers to employment. Goodwill also helps to create a healthier planet by recycling and repurposing donated items that do not get sold.
Tax Deductions
Federal law permits Goodwill donors to claim tax deductions for many financial contributions and donated items. If you are unsure whether your item qualifies for a tax deduction, ask yourself if you would give it to a relative or friend. If so, the item is most likely in good enough condition and is appropriate to donate and claim the deduction. It is up to you and the individual who prepares your taxes to determine the value of your donations.
